Yesterday (December 3) MadCap released Flare 4.1, Analyzer 2.1, and X-Edit 1.1. Each release has several bug fixes and enhancements.
If you haven’t yet downloaded and installed these updated releases, you can start the process by simply opening each application. You’ll see several message prompts: (1) view the available update; (2) download the update; and (3) close the application before downloading.
When you install and open Flare 4.1, a message will prompt you to update SQL Server Compact. Once you grant permission, the SQL Server update will automatically install.
This morning I downloaded and installed all three applications on my Windows XP and Vista laptops. The entire process took about 45 minutes.
